Ericka Argueta

GRADUATES

Ericka joined Fotokids at 15, in a community where opportunities in the arts were scarce. There were no workshops or programs for young people interested in design, and many around her believed that pursuing art would never lead to a real career. Fotokids changed that. With training, access to materials, and a supportive environment, she discovered that design could open real doors for her future.

Ericka began teaching graphic design to younger Fotokids participants. For five years, she led classes that provided others with the same tools and encouragement she once received. This experience shaped her not only as an artist but also as a mentor, proving that sharing knowledge can be just as transformative as creating it.

After graduating, Ericka earned a degree in Graphic Design and quickly gained national recognition. She won several design competitions and joined one of Guatemala’s top agencies. Alongside her professional career, she has built a portfolio as an independent illustrator, collaborating with cultural organizations in Antigua Guatemala.

Today, Ericka continues to grow as both a designer and freelancer. She aims to balance her creative independence with a sustainable career while also giving back by sharing her journey with others.
