Give to change a life… and you know it works. With the educational and vocational scholarships, you all have generously provided, Fotokids graduates have gotten jobs in design studios, film production, ineducation, the airline industry, in business, in law, and of course as photographers, videographers and as entrepreneurs starting their own businesses. All of these kids come from backgrounds of poverty, but they took the learning opportunities Fotokids provided them and captured those dreams. Right now, we have ten in the university and others waiting in the wings. Jose Manuel Mendoza graduates next year from Fotokids. He lives with his family of 9 in four rooms in an alley off of the Lake. Although everyone in the house is working to keep the family solvent, whether from weaving, selling fish dishes in the market, working in the fields, creating jaspe, or embroidering, only Jose Manuel has the chance to study; because he has a Fotokids scholarship. The family has no money for anyone else to get an education.

Jose Manuel has a plan to bring his family some economic stability. He is studying accounting in high school and on graduation hopes that can provide him with part time work. With the skills he has learned from Fotokids he can earn money doing design and photo jobs for clients (he is already working freelance for clients). Then he plans to attend the University… Well, listen as Jose Manuel tells you himself …
